You can serve these steaks with a variety of sauces, dressings and pestos—marinara orgremolata would be delicious—but I stuck with the original recipe’s suggestion of serving with lemon wedges. A squeeze of lemon juice and a sprinkling of fresh herbs is all these steaks need.

These would make an excellent new take on Mexican night, or served as is with salsa for more of a “chip and dip” situation. You really can’t go wrong with these buttery, crispy dream boats.

You can certainly take this bowl in many different directions if you like. In place of the za’atar, try a different spice blend.

one-pot peanut sesame noodles & veggies

All of the ingredients–dried pasta, veggies, seasonings–go into a big pot with what looks like an impossible amount of liquid. Everything’s brought to a boil, then you toss (and toss and toss) it in the pot while it bubbles away. It’s not unlike a stir-fry of sorts, in that it cooks quickly over high heat—with lots of hands-on time while it boils. But it takes very few minutes to go from raw to “dinner’s ready!”
